Universal Newsreel - March on Washington (2), USA; 1963
(Part 2 of 4) Report covering the 1963 March on Washington. The report continues, 'By 11.30, there are more than 200,000 thronging the Mall, a crowd that is bigger than the most optimistic forecast', whist showing footage of demonstrators in the crowd. A silhouetted speaker shown against the Washington Monument addresses a large crowd. Aerial views of crowds around the Washington Monument. The report says that the crowd becomes impatient and starts moving down the Mall of its own accord 'with good humour, laughter and song... participants in a historical day'.
