Iconic Reggae legend Bob Marley honored with parade on death anniversary
GOMA, DEMOCRATIC REPUBLIC OF CONGO - MAY 11: Rastafarian communities organized a commemorative parade in honor of reggae music icon Bob Marley on the anniversary of his death in Goma, Democratic Republic of the Congo, on Saturday (May 11).
Bob Marley, a Jamaican singer, songwriter, and musician, remains one of the most influential figures in the history of reggae music.
Throughout his career, Marley addressed social and political issues in his music, promoting messages of peace, love, and harmony.
His songs, including "Redemption Song," "One Love," and "No Woman, No Cry," have served as anthems of optimism and resilience, inspiring millions worldwide.
Beyond his musical contributions, Marley was closely associated with the Rastafari movement, which deeply influenced his beliefs, lifestyle, and songwriting.
Tragically, Bob Marley passed away on May 11, 1981, at the age of 36, after battling cancer.
