EXT DAY MCU Princess Diana's friend, Meredith Etherington-Smith, comments on Princess Diana, the public, and the press. Meredith Etherington-Smith states, "I think she actually had a wonderful relationship with the public. Don't ever confused the public and the tabloids, because obviously the tabloids don't understand what the public thinks. Because if the tabloids did they would of taken it for an attack. She knew people she met liked it, we all loved her. She is such fun, as I said the other day. The tabloids and the public are two different things as we are seeing all around us right now." Princess Diana died in a car crash in the Pont de l'Alma road tunnel in Paris. Her boyfriend, Dodi Fayed and their driver, Henri Paul, security manager of the Hotel Ritz Paris also died in the car crash. Millions of people watched the princess's funeral.
