TOKYO, JAPAN - OCT. 7: Prime Minister Shinzo Abe retained key Cabinet members in a reshuffle Wednesday in a move to maintain stability in economic management and diplomacy as he leads his ruling coalition into a House of Councillors election next summer. Abe kept nine Cabinet members, including Finance Minister Taro Aso, Foreign Minister Fumio Kishida, Defense Minister Gen Nakatani and Akira Amari, minister of economic and fiscal policy, while appointing 10 new members, according to a new Cabinet lineup announced by Chief Cabinet Secretary Yoshihide Suga. - Abe's new Cabinet lineup is as follows: Prime Minister; Shinzo Abe, Deputy Prime Minister, Finance Minister, State minister for financial services, Minister in charge of overcoming deflation; Taro Aso (R) , Internal Affairs and Communications Minister; Sanae Takaichi (RF), Justice Minister, Mitsuhide Iwaki, Foreign Minister; Fumio Kishida (R), Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology Minister, Minister in charge of education rebuilding; Hiroshi Hase, Health, Labor and Welfare Minister; Yasuhisa Shiozaki (R), Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries Minister; Hiroshi Moriyama, Economy, Trade and Industry Minister, Minister in charge of industrial competitiveness, Minister in charge of the response to the economic impact caused by the nuclear accident, State minister for the Nuclear Damage Compensation and Decommissioning Facilitation Corporation; Motoo Hayashi, Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism Minister, Minister in charge of water cycle policy; Keiichi Ishi, Environment Minister, State minister for nuclear emergency preparedness; Tamayo Marukawa (F), Defense Minister; Gen Nakatani (R), Chief Cabinet Secretary, Minister in charge of alleviating the burden of the bases in Okinawa; Yoshihide Suga (R).
