US President Biden attends mass in Philadelphia, addresses supporters ahead of Nov. 5 elections
PHILADELPHIA, US - JULY 7, 2024:ÌýUS President Joe Biden attended a religious mass at Mount Airy Church of God in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and addressed his supporters ahead of the upcoming elections.
In the lead-up to the Nov. 5, 2024 presidential election, Biden and Donald Trump faced off in their first live debate last week. Biden's performance failed to alleviate concerns over his age and fitness for a second term, drawing heavy criticism in the aftermath.
Many voters across the US urge Biden to withdraw from the presidential race while his poor performance during the debate with Trump also alarmed some Democrats as he struggled to articulate his ideas and respond effectively to Trump's claims.
According to a recent poll by CNN, voters expressed support for former President Donald Trump over Biden by 6 points, 49% to 43%.
The network also reported that among the US public, Biden’s favorability rating stands at just 34%, with 58% viewing him unfavorably.
