Training For Possible Terror Attack On Shinkansen As G-7 Meeting Nears

Police secured a Sanyo Shinkansen bullet train at JR Kokura Station in a terror response drill which began in the late hours of April 1 and continued into the early hours of April 2,2016 in Kitakyusyu,Japan. Police, firefighters and railway officials led participants playing the role of passengers to safety and also dealt with suspicious persons and a chemical substance. The drill was held in advance of the G-7 energy ministers’ meeting which will take place in Kita-Kyushu on May 1 and 2 as one of the related conferences to the Ise-Shima Summit, which will take place on May 26 and 27 in Shima, Mie Prefecture.
