FLASHING Performers at protest against Section 28, UK; 1988
FLASHING IMAGES: CAMERA FLASHES Performers stage a protest against Section 28, also known as Clause 28, of the Local Government Act 1988, which prohibited the 'promotion of homosexuality' by local authorities, during which a mallet is used to smash a small figurine of Michelangelo's David in a representation of Section 28 as a blunt instrument and there is a photocall. The protest took place at the Playhouse Theatre in London and was attended by peers from the House of Lords. (ANBF025E - AEXZ288W)
