House of Peace In Panmunjeom
Panmunjeom, South Korea, -April 20: South and North Korea on Wednesday hammered out various details of a summit of their leaders to be held next week at the border, including plans for a live broadcast of a handshake between them, according to a South Korean presidential office spokesman.
The agreements came in the second round of working-level talks, held on the North Korean side of border village of Panmunjeom, to prepare for the first inter-Korean summit in around a decade, which is to take place on the South Korean side of the military demarcation line that runs through the village.
Panmunjeom lies only some 50 kilometers north of Seoul inside the heavily-fortified demilitarized zone that divides the two Koreas, which remain technically at war since the 1950-1953 Korean War ended in a cease-fire.
Footage shows the House of Peace in South Korea in the border village of Panmunjeom, the location of a planned inter-Korean summit.
