REMEMBERING RWANDA'S GENOCIDE

Over the course of the 100 days following the April 6, 1994 assassination of then president Juvenal Habyarimana, some 800,000 people, mostly Tutsis, were slaughtered in a well-planned genocide in Rwanda. Prominent among those who gave refuge to people targeted in the campaign was Paul Rusesabagina, the manager of the main hotel in Kigali, whose story inspired the film ÒHotel RwandaÓ. An interview with Rusesabagina with still photos from the 1994 genocide. (Footage by AFPTV via Getty Images)
