MADRID, SPAIN - DECEMBER 02: One of the world's best modern art museums, Reina Sofia in Madrid is attracting visitors with an excellent collection of thousands of artworks including the famous “Guernica” painting by Spanish artist Pablo Picasso. Visitors at the museum also have a chance to see the artwork of world famous artists such as Joan Miro, Salvador Dali, Juan Gris, Vasily Kandisky, Paul Klee, and Francis Bacon. The Collection has recently expanded even further in terms of format, historical context and geographical framework. Film and video are pivotal areas in the Museum’s development and Latin America has become a fundamental line of work, all of which means the creation of present-based pluralistic takes on modernity, its precedents and its repercussions. The museum also has a library and documentation center, as well as a bookshop, cafe and restaurant. The Museo Reina Sofia opens its doors every day except Tuesdays with access to the Collection at the Sabatini building and the Nouvel building in its main site.
