MS of football players Joe Namath and Pete Rozelle are giving a press conference. Namath says my principle when it's far as what I'm thinking for at that time and that was just concern with myself I would til this day still maintain that I haven't done anything and I haven't done anything but there is that air of doubt that question only to the public which we are trying to erase now only to the public because of these magazine articles and things there's never been a question raised to what I've done wrong or right other than good of association and what that is that's never been spelled out but to keep everything on the up and up which it has to be then we are getting out of bad history my principle that I stand to if it concerns me and me alone but as I said before it's taken my family it's taken my football team it's too many people involved for me to just go ahead and say well the hell with it I can if it's with me but with all these other people involved I can't do that. Joseph William "Joe" Namath born May 31, 1943, nicknamed "Broadway Joe" or "Joe Willie", is a former American football quarterback. He played college football for the University of Alabama under coach Paul "Bear" Bryant and his assistant, Howard Schnellenberger, from 1962Ð1964, and professional football in the American Football League (AFL) and National Football League (NFL) during the 1960s and 1970s. Namath was an American Football League icon and played for that league's New York Jets for most of his professional career but finished his career with the NFL's Los Angeles Rams. He was elected to the Hall of Fame in 1985.
