Devastated Palestinian families bid tearful farewells to victims of Israeli strikes on Khan Younis
GAZA, PALESTINE - JULY 26: Numerous Palestinians have been killed and injured, including women and children in a series of airstrikes conducted by the Israeli army on Khan Younis, located in the southern Gaza Strip on Friday (July 26).
The attacks have left a trail of devastation, with families mourning the loss of their relatives.
One Palestinian who lost a family member described the situation in tears:
"They took our light, leaving our sons and daughters injured. Their eyes are all wounded. They're all wounded. She died of hunger, truly died of hunger. Honestly, she hasn't even tasted food. We flee from safe areas to supposedly safer areas in the north of Gaza."
The bodies of the deceased Palestinians were retrieved from the morgue of Nasser Hospital in Khan Younis by their grieving relatives for burial.
Israel, flouting a UN Security Council resolution demanding an immediate cease-fire, has faced international condemnation amid its continued brutal offensive on Gaza since an Oct. 7 attack by the Palestinian group Hamas.
