French Grand Prix: Nigel Mansell returns:; FRANCE: Magny-Cours: Circuit de Nevers Magny-Cours: EXT Frank Williams (Williams F1 boss) interview SOT - (It's like old times) Today was quite a surprise, I didn't think we'd go that well, Nigel (Mansell) astonished me and most of the team I think coming from where he's come from and integrating so quickly, that was just an astonishing performance / Damon never ceases to surprise - (What is the difference today to yesterday) Well the cars weren't set up particularly well when we arrived, you always have to take an educated guess / but the team worked very hard, not me, the team worked very hard yesterday and this morning, and made substantial progress this morning in particular at making the cars quicker - (Nigel's presence seems to have galvanised the team) That's a pretty accurate word for the situation, he's brought a lot of experience; he's been racing Grand Prix cars for 11 or 12 seasons, his Indy experience has helped has well, and he's come back a man with a lot of technical input that's helped us - (And also morale boosting) The morale boosting came once he got to like the car and he demonstrated his old speed, there was a bit of a buzz around yes - (Dare I say you're hopeful of seeing a little more of him later in the season) That's possible and we're hopeful Damon Hill (Williams Renault driver) interview SOT (some of it in French) followed by interview with Staunton - (Fantastic performance, Nigel's galvanised everything hasn't he) Yeah, it's a great motivation and I'm very pleased for the Rothmans Williams Renault team, especially Renault here in France to have the two cars on the front row and I don't remember the last time two English drivers were on the front row of a Grand Prix in the same team / must have to go back an awful long way to find that, maybe Peter Collins and Mike Hawthorn (Nigel's time was phenomenal but you bettered it) Yeah he was pushing me all along and he made a l...
