Green stink bug adults measure around 15 millimeters in length and display a color that can alternate between light and dark green. The ventral surface of this species is light green and reddish antennae emerge from it.[3] They are often known as stink bugs due to the unpleasant odor they give off.[6] This stench, reminiscent of aldehydes, is the result of a glandular secretion secreted by the pores on the thorax of this species, when it feels threatened.[6] The longevity of adult specimens depends largely on climatic conditions, such as temperature and humidity, but also on the levels of stress to which the specimen is subjected. In any case, on average they live approximately 117 days, without significant distinction based on sex.
