NYPD Commissioner Raymond Kelly comments on the Times Square Bomb plot
INT CU New York Police Department Commissioner Ray comments on Faisal Shahzad after the Times Square Car Bomb. The Commissioner states, "We are looking at that, and obviously he was impacted he was there for five months, and he claims to have received bomb training and training in small arms in Waziristan ." There was an attempted car bomb that occurred in Times Square in New York City, and it was thwarted when two street vendors saw smoke coming out of the car when it failed to explode. They contacted a police officer immediately, who called for backup, the bomb disposal team, and the fire department. Faisal Shahzad, a 30-year-old Pakistan-born resident of Bridgeport, Connecticut, who had become a U.S. citizen in April 2009, admitted to the attempt of the car bomb, and was sentenced with a life in prison.
