Jerry Nadler Supports Bill to Confirm Copyright Register
New York Congressman Jerry Nadler argues in support of the bill making the United States Register of Copyright a position confirmed by the Senate, noting 20 committee hearings over four years with testimony from 100 witnesses and other feedback. Nadler calls the bill an important first step in modernizing the Copyright Office, that the copyright ecosystem demands an effective Copyright Office overseen by the register, that the bill at hand establishes an open and transparent process for selection of the next register beforehand selected entirely by the librarian of Congress.
