ANCHORAGE, ALASKA, US - NOV. 20: Natasha, an 11-year-old Amur tiger, also known as Siberian, has been living at the Anchorage Zoo in Alaska for more than a month, after arriving on October 9 as part of efforts to protect the endangered species. Born at the Sedgwick County Zoo in Kansas, Natasha weighs approximately 300 pounds (136 kg) and is now the zoo's sole tiger following the passing of Kunali in March due to old age complications. His brother, Korol, passed away in 2023. Amur tigers, the largest cat species in the world, are native to the cold and harsh environments of Russia and China. With only an estimated 350 to 450 Amur tigers remaining in the wild, the species is considered endangered. Natasha is part of a Species Survival Plan (SSP), a breeding program within zoos aimed at supporting conservation efforts and raising awareness about the species.(Footage by Hasan AkbaÅŸ/Anadolu Agency via Getty Images)
