Nasi hujan panas: Tasty and colorful Malay meal
KUALA LUMPUR, MALAYSIA - JUNE 11: Nasi hujan panas, which is usually cooked on special occasions and invitations in Malaysia, stands out as one of the most preferred dishes by local and foreign visitors of the Southeast Asian country.
Nasi hujan panas is known as colorful food or "nasi minyak" among Malaysians, while the name refers to the rainbow that comes out after the rain, due to the vibrant colors of the dish.
In the Malay tradition, nasi hujan panas is usually served with beef and other Malay dishes such as chicken rendang or curry sauce chicken.
Rudi Farique has been producing nasi hujan panas for five years in her shop in Kuala Lumpur, the capital of Malaysia, and offers it to local and foreign guests at different points of the city.
They serve nasi hujan panas with chicken or meat portions, accompanied by salads and drinks, for nine ringgit ($2).
She said that the meal is mostly preferred at weddings and that she receives food orders for at least one wedding almost every week.
She added that they strive to reach everyone at affordable prices, not just for special occasions, but every day. (Footage by Idris Sulun/Anadolu Agency via Getty Images)
