Minnesota Congresswoman Michelle Fischbach says in debate on a procedural rule proving for later floor action on a third fiscal year 2025 continuing appropriations resolution that nobody wanted a government shutdown and the bill under consideration would keep the government fully funded through September 30th without disruptions to veterans' healthcare services, Social Security, Medicare or Medicaid, while investing in defense personnel with the largest pay raise for junior enlisted troops in over 40 years, funding the toxic exposures fund, fully funding nutrition assistance for mothers, infants and children, increasing WIC program funding, and containing no poison pills, yet Democrats engaged in fear-mongering and accepted the chaos of a shutdown due to blind hatred of President Trump.
