Congressman Delaney opposes constitutional balanced budget amendment

Maryland Congressman John Delaney argues in debate on a balanced budget amendment to the Constitution that the majority and minority could put together a fiscal plan that was responsible, represented smart economics and allowed investment, whether they would be talking about a budget with annual deficits of less than two percent. Delaney says tax revenues are the lowest as a percentage of the economy in 50 years, that working towards two percent deficits with an economy growing 2.5 percent each year, then by definition the debt would go down by setting realistic goals, and honest conversation with the American people not done for political reasons that would materially improve the fiscal trajectory of the country.
