Margaret Beckett and EU Commissioner Olli Rehn press conference; Olli Rehn (EU Commissioner) press conference SOT -I'm delighted to be here and to have met Margaret Beckett / It is essential instrument for peace and stability (enlargement)/ We have a number of issues on the agenda, the commission recommended the accession of Romanian and Bulgaria as of 1st January 2007 / Thanks to their intensified reform efforts / This will complete 5th enlargement of EU European union, reunifying Western and Eastern Europe / The main task has been to avoid a train crash with Turkey, to keep accession process alive and moving / Turkey will meet its obligations and launch its reform process with full determination / Important to underline the Finnish presidency is working on unlocking the stalemate over Cyprus / Finally we have debate on enlargement and integration capacity / To achieve new consensus on enlargement which combines the strategic interest of the EU to extend zone of peace and stability across our continent /This is the best way to maintain EU soft power in our immediate neighbourhood / Glad to work with UK Government PULL OUT
