Marcus Luttrell Speech to 2016 Republican National Convention

Marcus Luttrell, retired Navy SEAL and author of the book Lone Survivor, thanks delegates for their standing ovation, saying his family was patriotic, and that he and his brother were raised to love the country more than themselves. Luttrell says that because he was willing to open about his life he was able to meet the greatest people America has to offer, that veterans should not return to hell, that it was an honor to fight alongside Generation X, and that having met with candidate Donald Trump, he understands that America needs an elite military. Emotionally, Luttrell says he will speak off the teleprompter, that leaders need support of families and officeholders need accountability, telling younger Americans that their war is here, asking who among them would take the fight to the enemy, that America is the light, thanking the audience for serving them for twenty years.
