World's Luckiest Wombat Escapes Kiss of Death By Amorous Snake
Lucky the wombat lived up to her name when she narrowly avoided the kiss of death after a deadly snake slithered into her enclosure. In a video uploaded on January 19, the little wombat warily eyes the predator, before a handler scares it away. "I am very scared of snakes but to see it about to strike my baby I kicked the enclosure hard to scare it," said Justine King who works at the Dimmocks nature retreat at Bundanoon in the NSW southern highlands of Australia. Luckily the snake got the message and shoved off without hurting Lucky. "As it darted the other way I scooped up Lucky and made a quick getaway."
