Little Girl Lays Flowers as Tribute to Queen Elizabeth II at Hillsborough Castle

A little girl laid flowers at the gates of Hillsborough Castle, the royal residence in Northern Ireland, on September 10, as a tribute to Queen Elizabeth II, who passed away on September 8. Video recorded by Moore Holmes shows four-year-old Charlotte laying flowers as a tribute to the late monarch, as the family visited Hillsborough Castle on Saturday morning. Mom Rebekah Loughran told Storyful that the little girl loved the queen. "She enjoyed celebrating her platinum jubilee," Loughran said, "and very much enjoyed the queenÕs skit with Paddington bear." On the flowers laid by Charlotte, an inscription reads: "Rest in peace Elizabeth the Great, thank you for everything, Charlotte Holmes, East Belfast." The little girl also drew a rainbow under the note. The queen, who had served as the United KingdomÕs head of state since 1952, died on Thursday at Balmoral aged 96, the royal family announced. Her son and heir, King Charles III was proclaimed the new monarch of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland on September 10.
