Labour Party Conference 2010: David Miliband and Ed Miliband arrivals; ENGLAND: Manchester: Manchester Central: EXT David Miliband MP (Labour Foreign Affairs spokesman) along with his wife Louise Shackleton David Miliband speaking to press outside conference hall SOT - This is Ed's week not my week/ Not going to take any attention from the vital Foreign Affairs Q&A/ Got Alistair Darling's speech today/ Not a conference about me but about Labour Party re-invigorated/ No speculation at all (about his possible stepping down from Shadow Cabinet)/ I'm not going to get into this until Ed has got his speech out of the way/ Anyone who tells you anything about what I've decided is not telling you the truth Ed Miliband MP (Labour Party Leader) out of hotel and towards waiting press SOT - (on possibility of David Miliband stepping down from Shadow Cabinet role) that is a decision for him/ He'll make it in his own way and time/ Right he does that/ Looking forward to hearing his speech this morning - sure it will be very good - We had nice discussion on Saturday/ He needs his own time/ He has huge amount to offer our politics/ David is someone incredibly loyal to me and the country, he will make his own decisions/ This conference is about his speech today and my speech tomorrow/ Need to show humility to country, they are more interested in what we have to say to them rather than details of shadow cabinet - (New Labour, Old Labour labels) These labels aren't that helpful/ New Labour was right for its time/ Many aspects of New Labour we will retain - wealth creation - but came to be associated with style of politics/ I'll be saying more about my vision in my speech on Tuesday/ There is no psycho-drama/ David and I are incredibly close/ Graciousness he has shown speaks volumes/ I will make my own decisions on Shadow Cabinet - but not this week/ who gets what in Shadow Cabinet is not a decision for this week Ed Miliband along towards conference venue
