Kyrgyz president meets Turkish Nobel chemistry laureate
BISHKEK, KYRGYZSTAN - APRIL 21: Kyrgyzstan's president on Saturday praised a Turkish Nobel Prize in chemistry winner as “the most valuable representative” of not only the Turkic world, but all of humanity.Meeting with visiting Nobel laureate Aziz Sancar, Sooronbay Jeenbekov said: “Positioning yourself as a representative of Turkic-speaking peoples makes a great contribution to the development of relations between Turkic-speaking states. We are proud of you.” Sancar thanked the president for his warm welcome, saying that all people in Turkic-speaking states see Kyrgyzstan as their second motherland."I am glad that Kyrgyzstan pays close attention to human development and preserving peace," Sancar said. Aziz Sancar, a biochemist at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in the United States, is Turkey’s second Nobel laureate, after novelist Orhan Pamuk.
