King and Queen Channel Islands tour: Arrival at Saint Peter Port / walkabout; GUERNSEY: Saint Peter Port: EXT GVs of King Charles III and Queen Camilla taking part in Special Sitting of the States of Deliberation of Guernsey’s Parliament, with Sir Richard McMahon (Bailiff of Guernsey) and Richard Cripwell (Lieutenant-Governor) King Charles III speech SOT - Happy memories of last visit in 2012 to mark mother's Diamond Jubilee / we are delighted to be able to return once again and look forward to meeting more people from the wonderful islands / this area holds special meaning for many reasons; it is very close to where the liberated troops were so eagerly welcomed by the populace in 1945 as they freed the islands from wartime occupation / it is also where with pride and joy many people here today welcomed the competitors when you hosted the island games last year / the bailiwick has one of the oldest connections to the crown, it is therefore a great joy to be here among you once more today to celebrate the close and special relationship which connects us / I pray that the blessing of almighty god will attend all your deliberations for the benefit and prosperity of this island and the other islands of the bailiwick.
