What a beautiful place and a beautiful day It is, and it hardly seems possible, but if you combine Believe it or not, this weekend, this coming weekend, is nine months since the general election. Nine months since the nation voted overwhelmingly for change. I stood on the steps of Downing Street, I think it was the day after the election, and I promised that this Labour government would be on the side of working people. And mark my words, with our plan for change, we will turn things around and get our country back on track. But look, I know people are still struggling with the cost of living. You know that. You see it every day. I see it every day. But the difference, the difference between us over the last nine months and 14 years of Tory government. The difference is night and day. per day. They spent £700 million of taxpayers' money to deport four volunteers to Rwanda. We've sent more than 24,000 people back home with no right to be here. That's the highest rate in almost a decade. They crashed the economy and sent interest rates through the roof. We've laid the groundwork for free interest rate cuts. They set the minimum wage. What did they say? They said it was a burden.
