Law Professor Tells Senators Gun Violence Executive Action Unconstitutional
Joyce Lee Malcolm, a law professor at the George Mason University School of Law, says that firearm regulation is a role of government, that the president has the rule to faithfully execute the laws, but that Congress must balance the second amendment protections with public safety. Malcolm says that the Obama administration is planning to alter present law in opposition to the explicit will of Congress, so what is at stake is equilibrium, calling the executive action plainly unconstitutional.
