Jorge Garbajosa reveals how King Felipe VI took care to congratulate the Spanish team after winning: "yes, we have that privilege: we feel very supported by the institutions. Yesterday when I finished the game I received a call from His Majesty, and I didn't I only talk to him but he asks me to please pass him on to the coach, to pass him on to the captain. And the truth is that it moves you to see that, with his obligations, he is looking after us". Pedro Sánchez also took time out of his work commitments to show his support for them: "the Prime Minister, with a tremendously tight schedule, gives us the luxury of joining us in Berlin and watching the game up close. You talk to him and you can tell that He has followed us a lot. Today the community of Madrid has been with us at the Wizink Center". He assures that he has not found out what has happened with France but he conveys his admiration and respect: "I have nothing to say, I don't know, we have had such a crazy day that I don't know what has happened or is not happening. I know that as a federation Spanish we have enormous respect for our dear French neighbours". He understands that the Spanish team has received so much criticism and few people bet on it: "and I'm not going to criticize it because we were a young team in some cases, inexperienced in others, veteran in others and we are talking about the Eurobasket with the highest sporting level in the history or in recent years, at least, for sure. A team under construction, an inexperienced team, a team in some cases imberber, has come to compete so much and so well depending on a game plan of the coach and the assistants" .
