Speaking to the radio station - LBC - Labour's shadow home secretary - Diane Abbott was unable to say how much the party's pledge to hire more police would cost. Her answers ranged from 300,000 pounds to 80 million pounds . The party later said it would be 300 million pounds. The Conservatives said the slip-up was more evidence that Labour is unfit to govern.
