2018 World Cup bid: FIFA inspection: speeches at Downing Street; ENGLAND: London: Downing Street: INT Dr Danny Jordaan (Chief Executive Officer (CEO), 2010 FIFA World Cup South Africa) shaking hands with man in room and taking seat as other members of FIFA delegation take their seats Nick Clegg MP (Deputy Prime Minister) along to podium and speech SOT - Good afternoon everybody it's a huge privilege to me as deputy prime minister to welcome the FIFA inspection team to Downing Street today led by the president of the Chilean football association Harold Mayne-Nicholls / I'd like first on behalf of the new coalition government and the country as a whole to congratulate everybody in FIFA for a fantastic world cup in South Africa, Dr Danny Jordaan who is with us today played an especially important role in that world cup as CEO... everybody can agree it was a tournament which was a historic triumph .... - You will know that there is a new coalition Government in the UK, we want to emphasise to you on the occasion of your visit that the commitment, the declaration, guarantees, provided by previous government, are ones we back 100 per cent, both David Cameron and myself as leaders of opposition parties, we gave our own undertakings to honours those guarantees when we were in opposition ... resolve to continue to back to the hilt the England 2018 bid, and our job during your visit is to show you that we already have the infrastructure and facilities to host a fantastic world cup, MP from Sheffield .... excitement and passion behind this bid really is very considerable, if we were lucky enough to host the bid here I know it would inspire so many people in cities and communities up and down the country, I think there are very few nations that can claim the same passion we have in England for the game of football, so I believe this is an exceptionally strong unbeatable bid, we believe in it, we hope that you will believe in it ...
