Cherry Salmon Boldly Leap The Waterfalls Of Shari River In Hokkaido
HOKKAIDO, JAPAN – JUL. 25: In heart of summer, at the upper streams of the Shari River in Kiyosato, the Eastern region of Hokkaido, schools of cherry salmon returning from the sea for the spawning season were seen leaping as high as 3 meters over the obstacle known as the "cherry waterfall" on Saturday July 25. Every year approximately 3,000 salmon make the journey upstream, with July to August the peak period for waterfall jumping.
