Cheri Bustos Supports Infant Addiction Care Bill
Illinois Representative Cheri Bustos speaks in support of her bipartisan bill to mandate a report on the prevalence and treatment regimes for neonatal abstinence syndrome, saying that every 25 minutes in America, a baby is born addicted to heroin or other deadly opioids resulting from their mother's struggle with addiction, that many of the most overlooked victims have been the most vulnerable and that it is terrible to witness an innocent newborn, trembling and crying uncontrollably, clenching her small fists and gasping for air.
