- "It was developing into a howling noise and you could hear sheets crashing about and trees being ripped off and branches crashing down on to the ground. In the background you could hear the sea building up. Theer were torrential downpours of rain. At least half or two thirds of the roof are off. Some of the buildings have completely exploded. There's nothing except scattered pieces of galvanised iron and branches. A friend of ours has had their house completely destroyed."
