Pro-Palestine protesters rally in Amsterdam urging end to Israel’s Gaza blockade
AMSTERDAM, NETHERLANDS - JULY 30: Hundreds of people marched through the streets of Amsterdam, Netherlands on Wednesday, July 30, to protest the ongoing starvation crisis in Gaza.
Starting at Spui Square and ending at City Hall, demonstrators banged spoons and plates to amplify their call for international intervention. Protesters chanted slogans and waved Palestinian flags to denounce Israel’s alleged use of hunger as a weapon.
The protest took place as the Dutch government barred two Israeli ministers from entering the country and recalled Parliament from its summer recess to urgently address the crisis in Gaza.
The Israeli army, rejecting international calls for a ceasefire, has pursued a brutal offensive on Gaza since Oct. 7, 2023, killing more than 60,100 Palestinians.
