CALIFORNIA, UNITED STATES - DECEMBER 6: Hundreds of Moroccans gathered outside of the City Hall, as their country qualified for the 2022 FIFA World Cup quarterfinals after beating Spain 3-0 on penalties Tuesday night.
Neither team was able to break the deadlock for the first 45 minutes.
Despite efforts by both sides in the second half, neither national team was able to produce a goal and the match went to extra time.
The Round of 16 match finished 0-0 after extra time, so a penalty shootout decided the winning team.
Morocco will face the winner of the Portugal vs. Switzerland match in the next stage. (Footage by Tayfun CoÅŸkun /Anadolu Agency via Getty Images)
