'This Is Insane': Dragonflies Swarm Beach in Rhode Island
A huge swarm of dragonflies descended on a beach in Westerly, Rhode Island, on Saturday, July 27. Video filmed by Helene Dombrowski shows the insects swarming Misquamicut State Beach on Saturday, causing some beachgoers to pack up and leave. Dombrowski estimated that there were "hundreds" on the beach when she arrived around 9:30 am local time and "millions" around 12:45 pm. "Some people were screaming while others were trying to catch them," she told Storyful.
