TRAVIS COUNTY, TEXAS - AUGUST 2: 16:43:48 how old were u when u felt u wanted to work in media? when in 17 wanted to listen to talk radio, larry king, and really liked larry king on radio and cnn, and also howard stern and wanted to be a talkshow host. how did u take desire to be a talkshow host into action and get on air. been out of hs 2 yrs and took classes at tv station in austin. they had a lot of equipment and studio space. so i became self taught with that equipment and in 94/95 - started doing call in shows and those became popular quickly so phone rang and had a DJ by name of shark man, said think u should come in, had howard stern big hosts and local hosts and first time i went in got 100 calls. i was 21/22. format of early shows on austin pub access? wasnÕt as political. some of that. knew about info but all over the map. call in on diff topics, carve pumpkins on tv, pet monkey, fun stuff, also liked johnny carson growing up. did people like ur show? they did. sounds like a wayneÕs world thing? good way to describe. did it win? best of austin in newspaper and started getting written about/ 16:46:30 (Footage by Law&Crime via Getty Images)
