Paul Ryan press exchange after House passes fiscal 2018 budget

House Speaker Paul Ryan of Wisconsin takes questions from reporters at a regular weekly press briefing. Asked about investigations into the Clinton campaign, partisan efforts, and the 2016 campaign, the FBI and subpoenas related to a dossier, Ryan says the point of investigations as to find the truth, that if laws were violated or mistakes made they not be made again. Asked about tax reform, Ryan says passing the budget was a big step, an enormous step in the direction toward getting reform over the line, in two law and done, deferring to the Ways and Means Committee to put out a specific plan. Ryan says that having chaired the Committee, he did not know what leadership to do his job, leaving that work to Chairman Kevin Brady.
