House Speaker Paul Ryan and Ways and Means Committee Chairman Kevin Brady of Texas take questions from the press at an event to introduce comprehensive tax reform. Brady says Republicans are focused on increasing paychecks in a major way, returning jobs from China, Europe and Mexico, that the tax code was in a standstill for 30 years so business taxes should be made permanent. Ryan says the tax code had not been reformed since 1986 in the world was passing the country by, so the focus is on middle class tax cuts and keeping jobs in the country after a flurry had moved and become foreign companies which would increase if America stayed at the back of the pack. Brady says nine in 10 Americans could file taxes at lower rates in a simpler system once Republicans are not just putting higher octane fuel in an old clunker but proposing to drive a newer tax vehicle since America is 31st in the world among competitors. Ryan says the effort makes good on promises to the American people in their collection to the majority and it must be done.
