RZESZOW, POLAND - MAY 1: US House of Representatives Speaker Nancy Pelosi and her delegation on Sunday (May 1) visited Poland’s Rzeszow, which has taken in the most number of Ukrainian refugees, to thank its leadership "for their dedication and humanitarian efforts." The visit came after Pelosi and the U.S. officials met the Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky in Kyiv, Ukraine. “We look forward to thanking our Polish allies for their dedication and humanitarian efforts. We will proudly convey the gratitude of America for the work of U.S. servicemembers and diplomats and other civilian leaders in Poland. When we return to the United States, we will do so further informed, deeply inspired and ready to do what is needed to help the Ukrainian people as they defend democracy for their nation and for the World,” said Pelosi. The full delegation which includes Chairman Jim McGovern, Chairman Gregory Meeks, Chairman Adam Schiff, Congresswoman Barbara Lee, Congressman Bill Keating and Congressman Jason Crow, will continue travel in southeast Poland and Warsaw. Russia launched what it calls a "special military operation" against Ukraine on Feb. 24. The West says Russia launched an unprovoked war of aggression and has imposed severe sanctions on Moscow.
