Fred Upton Remarks on Opioid Abuse in America
House Energy and Commerce Committee Chairman Fred Upton contributes to debate on a bill saying that every 12 minutes someone in the United States dies of a drug overdose and that abuse of prescription drug killers and heroin has impacted every single community. Upton notes that enough prescriptions were written in 2012 for every adult, which he calls a frightening reality, adding that work is going to continue.
