Congresswoman Granger cites undocumented immigrant statistics amid shutdown
House Appropriations Committee Ranking Republican Kay Granger says on day 34 of a partial government shutdown that in December 2018 Border Patrol apprehended 50,000 individuals, a record-breaking 27,518 were family units with unaccompanied children, 50 are referred from medical treatment though in one week over 400 were referred to, of whom 259 were children, seven in 10 victims of violence on their journey to the southern border, 31 percent of women sexually assaulted.
