House Administration Committee Chairman Bryan Steil of Wisconsin says in debate on a bill to prohibit individuals who were not citizens of the United States from voting in elections in the District of Columbia and to repeal the Local Resident Voting Rights Amendment Act of 2022 that in the nation's capital they should look at a whole host of election law reforms and make Washington DC the gold standard of election laws to show the American people what happens when they put in place provisions with strong election integrity, referencing the election integrity law passed in Georgia in 2021 that then-President Joe Biden called Jim Crow 2.0 which earned him four Pinocchios in the Washington Post, with Corporate America buying into the misstatements and falsities as Major League Baseball removed the All-Star Game from Atlanta after Georgia adopted similar legislation, but two elections have passed since showing empirical data rather than hyperbolic statements.
