Steam Locomotive Train Makes Final Run In Hakodate
HOKKAIDO, JAPAN - DEC. 25: A Hokkiado Railways Co., JR Hokkaido, steam locomotive train made the last ran between Hakodate and Onuma stations on Thursday December 25. The regional train company had to give up the annual service, called ''SL Hakodate Christmas Fantasy,"
as the government imposed severer train management standards after the company made a series of serious accidents in recent years. Many steam train fans got on. A father from Muroran, Hokkaido, said he took the train as a Christmas present for his three-year old son, adding that he hopes the service will be revived some day.
