Hikers Stumble Upon Intense Snake Battle Near Boston
A group of hikers were stalled on a trail after encountering two snakes engaged in a dramatic fight in the Blue Hills Reservation south of Boston, Massachusetts, in late July. Erin Noonan told Storyful that a seven teachers from Parker Elementary School in nearby Quincy were hiking near Milton on Tuesday morning, July 30, when two of them were blocked on a path by "two timber rattlesnakes doing a 'combat dance'." This footage from Noonan shows the snakes wrestling in the middle of the trail as the group watches from a safe distance. "Oh my god, that's crazy," Noonan says. "Super cool!" another teacher replies. Noonan's fellow teacher, Susan Maloney, told https://www.cbsnews.com/boston/news/rattlesnakes-fighting-video-massachusetts/ WBZ-TV that she had been hiking in the Blue Hills "her whole life" but had never seen a rattlesnakes in the area. Both Noonan and Maloney said they planned to use their images to educate their students about snakes. (Footage by Erin Noonan/Storyful via Getty Images UGC)
