Grave of Gertrude Bell in Baghdad, Iraq - HD stock video
Wide vertical shot of the grave of British traveller, writer, political officer and archeologist Gertrude Bell in a Baghdad cemetery, Iraq. Bell died in Baghdad in July 1926 and is buried in the Iraqi capital. Bell travelled widely throughout the Middle East at a time when it was uncommon for women to do so; she spoke Arabic and Persian perfectly and was responsible for drawing the lines of what became modern Iraq. She also founded the Museum of Iraq in Baghdad. Bell's grave was renovated in December 2005 by writer Tamara Chalabi, daughter of controversial Iraqi politician Ahmed Chalabi.
