Concert Venues Remain Closed In Madrid One Year After The Pandemic
MADRID, SPAIN - FEBRUARY 22: General view of the Honky Tonk Club on February 22, 2021, in Madrid. Spain. The National Federation of Leisure and Entertainment Entrepreneurs, 'España de Noche', has sent a statement in which they explain the complicated situation that the sector is going through. 'Spain by Night' has reported that the losses now amount to 2,580 million euros, and with a drop in turnover of 16,800 million euros. This has led to the closure of 5,000 leisure venues in Spain, which means the closure of 29.8 % of the 16,800 that existed as of March 2020. The Study of the Impact of the Coronavirus on Nightlife and Shows warns that the resistance capacity of these places is at the limit and that if they are not reopened before summer, or a direct aid plan is injected, 70.2% will disappear.
