Hobart Cavanaugh lets the audience know that he promised his horse, Lydia, that they would go see her cousin at the rodeo. A great crowd in the stands is shown with a beautiful mountain range in the distance. It's no surprise that as soon as Leo Carrillo is shown, he is seen horsing around. Next up is The Singing Cowboy himself, Gene Autry. Gene is with Jack Benny's radio announcer Don Wilson, who finds the heat to be too much to handle. Irene Rich attempts to join the two men but her horse doesn't make it easy for them. Alice Faye talks to some of the rodeo cowboys while dressed in a gorgeous silk cowboy shirt. Coincidentally, Alice would eventually marry Jack Benny Program costar and bandleader Phil Harris. Bronco busting men do their best to stay in control and on top of their bucking broncos. George O'Brien tips his hat to the camera and smiles. Actor and trick rider Montie Montana shows off his skills by switching from hanging off one side of the horse to the other while riding at an incredible speed. Some might say you need to be a "real man" to enjoy the rodeo but wooden superstar Charlie McCarthy proves them wrong. Charlie and his companion, Edgar Bergen, are both dressed in their finest western wear. Joel McCrea and William S. Hart wear more traditional suits than most at the rodeo. An exciting horse riding and lassoing trick is made even more exciting with the use of some movie magic. Gary Cooper makes nice with the camera.
